Powell Tuck Associates is a RIBA Chartered architectural practice specialising in high-end residential architecture and carefully considered commercialprojects. Our work includes contemporary new-build houses, luxury residential refurbishments, listed building renovations, retrofits, basement extensions, and complex building conversions.
We work across a wide range of scales, from bespoke private homes in Central London to larger multi-phase developments throughout the UK. Every projectis shaped by a commitment to contemporary design, spatial clarity, material quality, and long-term architectural value.

How long has Powell Tuck Associates been established?
Powell Tuck Associates was founded in 1990 by Julian Powell Tuck. The practice is now led by Director Adrian Lees, who has been with the studio sinceits inception.
This continuity is central to how we work. Unlike larger commercial practices, projects are not passed between separate design and delivery teams. Thesame directors and architects remain closely involved from the initial briefing stage through to construction completion and final handover.

Where is Powell Tuck Associates based, and what areas do you cover?
Our architecture studio is based in West London, between Hammersmith and Chiswick, close to Stamford Brook Underground Station.
While much of our work is focused in Central London and West London residential architecture, we regularly undertake projects across the UK, includingDevon and the wider South West. We also accept selected international commissions.

Do I need a fully developed architectural brief before contacting you?
No. Many clients approach us before they have defined exactly what they want to build.

How do you structure an architectural project?
We structure projects around the RIBA Plan of Work, adapting the process to suit the specific requirements of each commission.
Our typical stages include:
- Concept & Feasibility
Initial architectural studies, sketch proposals, and feasibility analysis to establish the project’s direction and design language.
- Planning & Consents
Developing the preferred scheme and managing planning applications, listed building consent, and conservation area approvals where required.
- Detailed Design
Preparing technical construction drawings, interior architectural detailing, bespoke joinery design, and material specifications.
- Construction & Contract Administration
Overseeing the construction phase through regular site inspections, contractor coordination, contract administration, and final completion.

Yes. We provide a full architectural service from concept design through to completion on site.
During construction, we conduct regular site visits, administer the building contract, coordinate consultants and contractors, review workmanship, andoversee final snagging and handover. Maintaining architectural involvement throughout the build helps ensure the design is executed with precision and consistency.

Yes. We have extensive experience working with Grade II listed buildings and properties located within conservation areas, particularly across West Londonand historic regional settings.
